I'm from Pescara, Italy and my name is Nicola (and as you can see from the pic, Nicola is NOT a female name in Italy). ;) Sorry, I had to tell you this, as I already receive too much snail-mail with "Ms.Nicola Battista" from UK and other countries. I don't need more of that in the e-mail too. Ahem. Hehe. I am a dj/musician/producer, I run a record label, I'm an ageing law student (heheh...), I write a lot of stuff that has been published on paper and/or the web (yea, sometimes I even get paid!), I sometimes have fun with pseudo-artistic stuff, and -er- I've been working as an insurance surveyor too. Not to mention a collaboration with a certain law firm. I mantain too many different websites, which have one thing in common: they look crap even when they're cool. This means I have no free time and I'm completely crazy. Since I don't really have free time, while doing something else ;-) I read a lot of comic book and graphic novels and during the past years I have contributed to publications like City Lights (an Italian comic fanzine that has been printed and also released on the web in various incarnations). This sometimes slows me down a bit... but I still tend to do what I want to do and to succeed in it. Check my music page and ya'll see what I mean. Hehe. Even if they always look the same ;-) these pages are constantly under mutation... I tend to add little things and make some adjustments when I have some time. I am a proud member of Metro Olografix (which hosts this site and is an Italian cultural association devoted to share knowledge about themes like alternative computing and opensource) , of Alcei (which supports new rights of freedom in the electronic communication... like a sort of Italian version of EFF) and of La Pergamena Virtuale (a cultural association about literature and other forms of art). Some other things I am involved with: I am a member of non-governmental organizations such as Greenpeace, Survival (which is an organization supporting Tribal Peoples worldwide) and WWF.
