Katherine Jenkins

Katherine Jenkins’ new album Believe is out in the UK on October 26. You can hear it all week on Telegraph.co.uk ahead of its release.

Released by Warner Bros., it is produced by David Foster, who is credited with a role in the success of Josh Groban and Michael Buble.
Foster has also worked with some of the biggest voices in pop music, such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand.

“Last year when the opportunity to work with David came up, for me it was a dream come true,” said Jenkins.
“I’ve always loved his style, what he brings to the music, and it’s been an absolutely amazing experience working with him. This is the album I’ve always dreamt of making”.
The album also features a duet with award-winning tenor Andrea Bocelli.
‘I Believe’, arranged by Foster himself, is a tender operatic ballad which unites Jenkins and Bocelli on record for the first time.
In addition to the October 26 release of the ‘Believe’ album, Jenkins will embark on an 11 date UK arena tour in March 2010.

David Foster

From Oprah.com:

For the past 35 years, David Foster has written and produced some of the most beloved songs of artists such as Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand and Earth, Wind and Fire. Gayle King talks with the 14-time Grammy winner about his career and future projects.

David says songwriting has been a part of his life since his days in junior high band. As a member of the 1970s band Skylark, David was introduced to the Los Angeles music scene, and after his band broke up, he became a sought-after producer and songwriter. “Most everything I wrote … I wrote with somebody else, so I like to think of myself as having good hands and so I can be good hands for anybody who wants to write a song,” he says.

From producing hit songs like Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You” to co-writing Chicago’s single “You’re the Inspiration,” David says his success in the music industry comes to him naturally. “I know that I feel the most emotional when I’m sitting at the piano … [but] “I’m not
one
of these
guys that has
to be
miserable to write
a song”
“I’m not one of these guys that has to be miserable to write a song”, he says. “I believe that all the great stuff floats around out there and the great stuff comes through you and not from you.”

In his personal life, David says he recently split up with his third wife, Linda Thompson, with whom he starred in a reality TV show called The Princes of Malibu. The show revolved around the lives of Linda’s sons Brody and Brandon Jenner and regularly featured David and the Jenner boys arguing. “We were playing for the camera, but all of the issues were rooted in some grain of truth, but it was all just acting,” he says.

Professionally, David says he is actively producing for artists such as Josh Groban, Michael Bublé and more. He also says he has plans to write songs with Justin Timberlake and is going into the studio soon to work with Whitney Houston on a comeback album.
