I also bought the cd through Itunes to get Lover All Alone and gifted the cd from Itunes to family and friends for the same reason. Why it wasn’t on the general public cd I don’t know. I think this is the best song I have heard Clay sing..I’m very confused about why this song and other new songs were not on the album.Why Clay was given only four new songs on his soph. CD is not the best way to promote a Soph CD and Mr Davis,who has been in the music business longer than I have been alive knows this.I hope Clay gets away from him as soon as possible.You and Jaymes have been the best thing that has happened to Clay. This song is hauntingly beautiful(ok, i didn’t even copy these two words from the posters above! They’re just the right words for this song!)… It touched my heart and I can hear it coming straight from Clay’s soul.

I have realized that on Clay’s album, the songs I love the most have one of three things in common:

Clay’s lyrics (Lover All Alone, Lonely No More)
David Foster’s production (Lover All Alone, Everything I Have)
or Eman’s production (Lover All Alone,Because You Loved Me, These Broken Wings)

Lover All Alone has all three of these talented men involved, and it is by far my favourite song NOT on the album. I play it on loop all the time.

These three talents working together can create magic ….. I pray for more of that magic !

Lover All Alone is really beautiful and haunting. Clay’s voice on his new CD really moves me.

What can a fan say about this MASTERPIECE…I have admired David Foster’s work for years and knew three years ago when I first heard Clay’s AMAZING voice that this duo would be a match made in heaven. “Lover All Alone” is the song we all have been waiting for and it breaks my heart to know that it’s only the true fan’s who get to hear how wondeful it is!!!! WOW!!! David that music is so amazing. The combination of the lyrics with the haunting sound is something else. I guess I will have to download the CD. I am guessing it is not availble individually. I already bought the CD from the store without this song. I wonder if Clay is a much greater talent then given credit for. He has a great voice but I hope he colaborates more because what a great effort this song is. Thanks for sharing it.

I heard this song last week, as I was walking by a co-worker’s desk. Stopped me cold. As soon as I got home I bought the CD off of iTunes. Yes - just for this song. Then I went searching to find out more, and here I am!

In my opinion, this is the way Clay Aiken should be heard: clean and pure. It has a lovely air of intimacy about it, a heart song. I’ve heard him belt out a few of his ballads, and while he’s good at that, none of that stuff compares to this.

My favorite songs are the ones that speak to me as being honest and true, no matter the genre. This is now one of them. Thank you.

I am having trouble putting my thoughts down…there is so much I want to say about this beautiful haunting song but I can’t seem to find the right words. It feels as though it’s so very personal, coming straight from Clay’s heart & soul…every fiber of his being laid open to the listener, his voice caressing the words; mesmerizing in it’s beauty.

The first time I heard Lover all alone I had tears in my eyes and I got the chills. Since then, I have probably listened to it at least 100 times… It is just incredible how beautiful the song is. The lyrics are superb, the music is haunting and the way Clay Aiken sings it is just breathtaking and heart felt. A perfect combination of all the right talents made this song work. This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard and Clay’s voice is pure perfection. The song penetrates your being.

I would love to know the story behind If You Don’t Know Me By Now. That is probably my favorite out of all the covers and as with LAA, why wasn’t it on the CD?

Not only is this haunting and tender and so personal, but it just shows the truth about life. Here is a man that is so incredibly loved by so many and yet an emptiness still lives in his heart. The message is so revealing and so touching. This is such a well orchestrated picture of a man I have grown to love beyond explanation. A man who is so deep behind his smiling eyes. This writing is a first for Clay, but please Mr Foster, do not let it be a last. The opportunity to see Clay in a tender vulnerable way through song, is just another dimension of who he is and truly, a much more welcome version of the man, compared to what the “media” has to say! His fans have always known there was depth and intensity behind the voice. Why RCA has chosen to hide this man is beyond our understanding.
It seems that Clay may have found his wings through you and Jaymes. I am praying that he will have the opportunity again.Thank you so much for respecting him so much, that you put this out there for all to see, hear and feel. The word clearly on all the boards is that we love this song. It needs to be in a movie or something. It needs to get out there. I just heard the song on you tube done to Grey’s anatomy scene and I cried, it is such a beautiful song which touches your soul.
Once in a lifetime you get to listen and hear an amazing singer and I have waited my whole life to hear a voice as beautiful as Clay’s. I look forward to what the future brings for him.

I’ ve heard of your name many many times for being a talented song writer and I had wish all along since Clay met you at the macDonald fund raising I think last year that you would soon write songs for Clay because you are the only song writer who can write songs that suite Clays voice… judging from the songs you’ve done for Celine Dione Josh Groban Michael Buble. These type of singers should never get lost in the midst of pop music because good melody can only be appreciated if sang by singers mentioned above.I hope you continued success .

LAA should be on his next album. I think the three of you could write and produce a fantastic album of all new songs!

I was fortunate enough to attend your Gala last month with my parents. They have followed you for a long time now, and admire your dedication to the causes that are important to you. They wanted to treat me to a nice evening and I wanted to get dressed up, so I figured why not! Boy am I glad I went. That was the first time I had seen Clay Aiken in person. I hear his singing 24/7 because the dorm floor I’m on has 25 of us. When I tell you that each room is loaded with posters, magazines, magnets, hats, shirts, and anything else that has Clay on it, I am not lying. I call the dorm floor Clayville, but I just didn’t “get it” I guess. But I do now. After seeing him sing live, I am hooked. My parents call it stage presence. I call it magnetic. He is gorgeous, funny and just plain sexy. I think I’m in love.

Well anyway, I finally downloaded the iTunes version of his new cd. I tried to find it in 4 different stores, but each store told me they weren’t getting any more in for awhile. So I asked my parents if I could borrow their credit card so I could at least download the cd. As I said before, I am in love with this mans voice. There are great singers out there, but there is something magic about Clays voice. I can’t get enough of it. There are so many songs I love on this cd, and some are really new to me even though I’ve been told they have been sung before. If I’ve heard any of them, I don’t remember because these all sound new to me. But my favorite is absolutely the bonus track “Lover All Alone”. My parents told me that you worked with Clay on this song. It’s beautiful. I cried when I heard it, but they were happy tears. That song is really not on the cd that is supposed to be in stores? Why not? It’s the most gorgeous song I’ve heard in a very long time. You and Clay worked great on this. I hope there are more songs someday that you and Clay do together. I hope also that if I have a chance to come to another event of yours with my parents, that you will have Clay Aiken there again.

What on God’s green earth can we do to get this song heard by the general public?????? It is a travesty that it is being hidden on iTunes for only the diehard Clay fans to hear. David’s gorgeous melody & encouragement has bumped Clay up into a whole new level artistically & yet day after day he is being bashed relentlessly for being the Karaoke King of American Idol. Someone please explain to me why in the devil’s name Clive Davis is doing this to Clay???!!! He had to know this album would be crucified & Clay’s career respect along with it. There is so much to love about ATDW - anyone who truly listens to it with an unbiased ear knows that - but most people can’t get past the fact that it is “lazy Clay Aiken” crooning love songs that belong to someone else enough to give it a chance. Why wasn’t LOVER ALL ALONE the opening track, the lead single pushed to Hot AC & Triple AAA & given a hot video for VH1?????? My God, this is Marketing 101, RCA!!!!!! The least you can do now is get it into a movie of hot TV show for exposure. If this song dies alone & buried at iTunes, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive Clive “The Cryptkeeper” Davis - the man with his finger on the pulse of what every blue-haired granny wants to hear.

As much as I love Clay’s voice, this is the first song of his to make my favorites list. It is one of the most perfect songs I have ever heard. It ranks up there with Another Auld Lang Syne, Sometimes When We Touch, and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad.

The simple, stripped-down music allows Clay’s voice to penetrate the listener’s emotions. The melody is perfect. Clay’s voice is an instrument itself, blending so well with the instruments(especially the cello) that at one point, it’s hard to tell where his voice ends. His phrasing is interesting as well. It’s not too trite. It sounds as if he is telling a story, instead of just singing a song.

What can I say about the lyrics? They are sad, sophisticated, and intensely personal and intimate. My brother-in-law says they describe exactly how he feels.

This song definitely deserves to be heard. A movie track or TV show would be perfect. It couldn’t earn a Grammy(a song has to be written specifically for a movie in order to be nominated) but it is certainly of that caliber.

A well-deserved round of kudos to all involved in ththe creation and execution of this song. This is the kind of collaboraion and synergy that produces magic.

At first the only song that really grabbed me was WITHOUT YOU. I had heard LAA but it didn’t move me. My friend emailed me the above Montage by Nanjeanne. When I saw my cutie patootie sing it and watched his facial expressions, IT BROKE MY HEART. Clay Aiken has a heart the size of an Ocean and yet the shyness, the look of pain on his face at not having found that someone to love him for Clayton Aiken and not Clay Aiken the Entertainer/Crooner and Fantastic Singer who is an interpreter of songs. I want to just throw my arms around him and mother him (I’m 66) and reassure him it will happen. I am a hopeless romantic and being American of Asian heritage, I have to see pictures with my songs for Confuscious said: “One picture tells a thousand words.” That’s exactly what Nanjeanne’s montage does, it shows Clay having the World at his feet and yet he has not found that one person who will love him for himself. Thank you David for you and your sister GETTING IT about Clay Aiken. I have your DF Charity Gala 2006 and Star Seach 2006 and taking words out of your mouth during this Gala, I too: LOVE THE GUY.

Lover All Alone is an amazing song for a young man such as Clay Aiken to have written as a first song! His impeccable vocal talent resonates with each note, the low notes are haunting. I have alsos directed friends to this and we all agree that if this was released as a single and received airplay it would definitely be a top ten song.
