Vancouver-born David Foster, a songwriter and producer known for his great ear and talent for spotting the next big star, will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in March.
Foster, 56, has worked with a who’s who of the music industry, including Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, George Harrison, Mariah Carey and Madonna.
He produced early albums for talents such as The Corrs, Michael Bublé, Renee Olstead and Celine Dion.
In a career spanning more than 30 years, he has won 14 Grammy awards, seven Junos, one Emmy and three Oscar nominations.
As a songwriter, his credits include The Power Of The Dream, the official song of the 1996 Summer Olympics, the score for the film St. Elmo’s Fire and songs for stars such as Whitney Houston.
Foster will be inducted into the Music Industry Hall of Fame on March 8, during Canadian Music Industry Week.
He already has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and is an officer of the Order of Canada.
