Pianist Jeffrey Biegel performed Foster’s music in Norway

Jeffrey Biegiel

On January 24th, pianist Jeffrey Biegel performed the Norwegian premiere of the tender tribute to David Foster’s four daughters for solo piano titled, Saje, in the Nordlysfestivalen (Northern Lights Festival) in Tromso, Norway. It was a fitting encore following a recital featuring works by Beethoven, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Johann Strauss. In the idyllic setting of the Land of the Midnight Sun, this winter festival celebrates music of all styles as the sun begins to rise over the Arctic city of Tromso, featuring renowned Norwegian jazz pianist Ivar Antonsen, and the 15-year old jazz saxophone sensation from Boston, Grace Kelly. Each letter of Saje represents the first letter of each of David Foster’s daughters, and is in the style of Brahms, Ravel and the American composer, Edward MacDowell, most notably his famous composition, To A Wild Rose, also in the key of A Major. Jeffrey Biegel has brought the solo piano music of David Foster to audiences throughout the world, and has recorded his solo arrangements of David’s pop music for PianoDisc, available through www.pianodisc.com.
