The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) invites everyone to celebrate the Architectural Opening & Building Dedication of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal with a live outdoor concert on the ROM’s new Bloor Street Plaza starting at 9:30 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Presented by CIBC, the Inaugural Season Sponsor of the Lee-Chin Crystal, the 75-minute concert entitled “A World of Possibilities” features theatrical performances by an outstanding line-up of Canadian and international artists from all musical and performance genres. The performances are highlighted by spectacular visual effects projected on the dramatic multi-faceted exterior of the Lee-Chin Crystal.
Hosted by film and television actor and writer Paul Gross, A World of Possibilities tells the story of mankind’s timeless and adventurous pursuit of the impossible. Three stages host a series of pop, classical, rock, jazz, opera, ballet, folk and gospel performances, including R&B singer Deborah Cox, Broadway star and holder of one of the longest running number one singles on the music charts, Metropolitan Opera star and international recording artist Isabel Bayrakdarian, acclaimed environmentalist and scientist David Suzuki, and multi-Grammy award winning producer-composer David Foster, who will be writing and conducting the musical Grand Finale.

On April 12, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) attends an event at the home of Barbra Streisand to raise money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Tickets are $25,000 per couple for cocktails and dinner, and $50,000 per couple for premium seating at the cocktails and dinner.
Will Streisand sing? The invite says only, “musical performance with David Foster and special guest.”
The Canadian Juno Award nominations were announced this week and David is up for the “Producer of the Year” Award.
The 2007 Juno Awards is being held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan April 1st. The Awards will air live on CTV Television.

Diana Ross leads the entertainment lineup for 13th annual Celebrity Fight Night fundraiser to be held March 24th at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix.
Jazz singer Michael Buble also will perform under the direction of Grammy Award-winning producer David Foster. Country music star Reba McEntire will return as the evening’s emcee.
Award recipients to be honored at the event also were announced Tuesday. Actress Sharon Stone will receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award, businessman Donald Trump will receive the Entrepreneur Award, Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash will receive the Sports Achievement Award and Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway will receive the Sports Legend Award.
The awards are intended to acknowledge leaders in the sports, entertainment and business communities who best represent the qualities associated with Ali and his fight to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
Celebrity Fight Night Foundation was founded in 1994 by Jimmy Walker and supports the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix as well as several other charities.
Each year dozens of celebrity guests attend the event that has raised more than $38 million in 12 years. Individual tickets range from $2,000 to $3,500 each and a table for 10 ranges from $15,000 to $50,000 dollars.
