Josh Groban topping BillBoard Album Chart for five weeks

Josh Groban’s “Noel”, produced by David Foster, this week becomes the first Christmas album to top The Billboard 200 for five straight weeks, after moving 757,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Groban’s total, which was up 13% from last week, helped hold off hefty competition from Mary J. Blige’s “Growing Pains” (Geffen), the only debut to crack the top 10 this week. The R&B star’s ninth album landed at No. 2 and shifted 629,000 copies.

Other Foster’s collaborations are “Vivere” by Andrea Bocelli at no.25 after 8 weeks on, Michael Bublè’s “Call Me Irresponsible” at no.38 after 34 weeks and Chris Botti’s “Italia” at no.58 jumping from 71. Also Josh Groban’s third studio album, “Awake” is still in the chart after 56 weekes, at no.95.

Josh Groban’s “Noel” earns 4 PLATINUM !!Congratulations !

Josh Groban sets a new record on The Billboard 200 with “Noel,” becoming the first Christmas album to top the chart for four straight weeks. The 143/Reprise set, produced by David Foster, moved 669,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 15% increase from last week’s sum. Elvis Presley’s “Elvis’ Christmas Album” also sat on top for four weeks, but non-consecutively.

With total sales at 2.77 million, “Noel” has now surpassed the “High School Musical 2″ soundtrack as this year’s top selling album.

Other Foster’s collaborations are “Vivere” by Andrea Bocelli at no.19 jumping from 23, Michael Bublè’s “Call Me Irresponsible” at no.34 from 63 and Chris Botti’s “Italia” at no.71 from 94.

With the holiday season marching on, Josh Groban’s “Noel”, produced by David Foster, retains its lead on The Billboard 200 for a third week straight. With an 8% sales increase, the 143/Reprise set moved 581,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Groban thus ties Elvis Presley as the record-holder for the most consecutive weeks at No. 1 with a Christmas album.

Other Foster’s collaborations are “Vivere” by Andrea Bocelli at no.23 jumping from 30, Michael Bublè’s “Call Me Irresponsible” at no.63 from 65 and Chris Botti’s “Italia” at no.94 from 106.

Not a single new release arrives in the top tiers of The Billboard 200 this week, as Josh Groban’s “Noel”, produced by David Foster, retains its lead on the chart for a second week. The 143/Reprise effort moved 539,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 33% increase in sales.

Other Foster’s collaborations are Andrea Bocelli’s “Vivere” at no. 30 this week, rising 7 spots after 5 weeks on and Michael Buble’s “Call Me Irresponsible” at no. 65, jumping from 83 after 31 weeks.

Josh Groban’s “Noel”, produced by David Foster, climbs to the no.1 spot and gains DOUBLE PLATINUM ! Congratulations !

After seven weeks on the chart, Josh Groban’s holiday set “Noel” finally overtakes The Billboard 200 at No. 1.
The 143/Reprise album ascends 2-1, selling 405,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The 81% increase was fuled in part by his surprise appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” last week.

“Noel” is the first Christmas-themed set to top the chart since Kenny G’s 1994 album “Miracles,” and the 405,000 units marks Groban’s best sales week ever.

Alicia Keys’ “As I Am” (J) flip-flops with “Noel,” slipping 1-2 with a 53% sales decrease to 349,000.

Josh Groban‘s new album “Noel” hits no.2 in Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, selling about 230.000 units this week.

Noel, produced by Grammy Award winner David Foster, is Josh’s fourth studio album and first holiday compilation. It features 13 tracks, which include the classics “Silent Night,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “The Christmas Song,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

It also features the songs “The First Noel,” a duet with Faith Hill and “Angels We Have Heard on High,” a duet with Brian McKnight.

Josh’s version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” features messages from American soldiers stationed overseas.
