“Corcovado” is one of the most beautiful songs that bossa nova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim ever wrote, and that’s saying a lot since he was the man behind such songs as “Garota de Ipanema (The Girl from Ipanema)” and “Águas de Março (Waters of March).” The song’s title refers to Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro, which boasts the famous statue of Cristo Redentor at its peak. Composed by the Brazilian musical genius in 1960, the classic tune, also known as “Quiet Night of Quiet Stars,” has been covered by Miles Davis, Stan Getz with Astrud Gilberto, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall and Queen Latifah, among many others.
Now superstar vocalist Andrea Bocelli is taking on ”Corcovado” as a duet with Canadian hitmaker Nelly Furtado (who has Portuguese roots). Bocelli will release his latest studio album, “Passione”, produced by David Foster, on January 29.

Playing to a specially invited audience at the Piazzetta in Portofino, Andrea Bocelli: Love In Portofino allows cinema audiences to experience the most successful classical solo artist ever as he covers the most famous love songs in the world.
