David and Charice

The ‘Hitman Return’ concert will be held in Mandalay Bay on October 15, 2010. It promises to be a memorable night filled with unforgettable musical numbers and entertainment that will make your Vegas trip even more meaningful. Aside from Charice and Ne-Yo, other David Foster friends who will grace the show include Seal, Martina McBride, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Michael Bolton, Ruben Studdard, Earth, Wind & Fire plus some surprise guests.
According to David Foster, he will cheat a little with the Las Vegas show as he used up a lot of his catalogue for the first edition.

“For instance, this show will feature Dreamweaver, a song composed by Gary Wright, which is not in my catalogue,” said Foster. “I will definitely go deeper in earlier catalogues.”

Seal: ‘Commitment’ Album Preview

Seal

Life is good for Grammy-winning, international R&B superstar Seal. Propelled by his 1994 smash “Kiss From A Rose,” the smooth-throated singer has enjoyed two decades of success (outside of his marriage to supermodel Heidi Klum, which is an achievement all its own). Seal is releasing his seventh LP, Commitment, on September 28 in U.S. (it’s already available in the rest of the world), his first collection of all-new material in two years. The album is produced by David Foster and if you’ve been a fan over the years then you know exactly what to expect: soulful lyrics, soothing instrumentation, and an experience tailor-made for the grown but still sexy crowd.

Seal

Anthony Jones – AHN Entertainment Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Seal is back with another album of the soul/pop he’s best known for. The album, “Commitment,” sees him teaming up with producer David Foster.

Foster and Seal teamed up for his hit “Soul” album, which saw him covering hits by Al Green and Sam Cooke among others. “Commitment” is his first new album of all-original material since 2006’s “System.”

The album feature’s the mid-tempo soulful rocker “All 4 Love” and the acoustic “Secrets.” Seal was also reportedly working on some Brazilian-influence dance tracks, but there’s no word if any of those made it on to this album.

“Commitment” is scheduled for a September 20th release date internationally, and September 28th in the U.S.

David Foster eager to add to Grammy haul

David Foster

From CBC News:

Canadian-born music producer David Foster is up for his 16th Grammy — out of 46 nominations over three decades — when the annual music awards are presented Sunday.

The excitement and desire to win recognition from others in the music industry are still there, he said.

“You don’t take the day off anymore. Maybe I did 30 years ago when I won my first Grammy, but not anymore. But it’s still exciting. I still have the hunger,” Foster said Wednesday in an interview with CBC’s Q cultural affairs show.

Foster is working behind the scenes at this year’s award ceremony in Los Angeles, producing a special number in support of Haiti. He wouldn’t say who is involved but promised it’s an “odd but great pairing.”

He is the producer who pulled together one of the original musi...

Interview: Secrets Of The Mix Engineers: Jochem van der Saag

Jochem Van der Saag

When Seal decided to pay tribute to classic soul records, he turned to legendary producer David Foster — and his right-hand man, Jochem van der Saag, who was responsible for mixing and much more.

by Paul Tingen – SoundOnSound.com

Seal’s seventh studio album, Soul, is an exploration of classic ’60s soul songs. It was a slightly surprising departure for the British singer, who is more known for bridging the gap between cutting edge electronica and mainstream rock. His fans didn’t seem to mind, as Soul has sold over two million copies world wide. The album was produced by the legendary David Foster, together with his right-hand man, Dutchman Jochem van der Saag, who is credited not only as engineer and mixer, but also keyboardist, drum programmer, sound designer and co-producer...
